Finding Nemo Tech Week, Show Day, and Costuming Information

We are absolutely thrilled here at Premier Arts Academy as we embark on an exhilarating journey into production week for our all-school musical, "Finding Nemo"! The air is filled with anticipation and excitement as our talented cast and crew come together to bring this timeless classic to life on our stage.

Please review the details below surrounding tech rehearsals (taking place during the school day), performance day timing, and costuming instructions. It is a lot of information so please read it carefully.

Tech Rehearsals -- Tuesday October 29th- Orange Cast / Wednesday October 30th - Blue Cast

NOTE: ALL 5/6/7 will attend BOTH days of rehearsals

• Tech rehearsals will take place DURING SCHOOL HOURS. No changes in drop off/pick up are needed.
• Students should arrive to school in ‘skins’ on their tech rehearsal day (bike shorts, tank top, etc.) with hoodie/sweatpants over their 'skins'.
• Students will be using co-ed dressing rooms. Arrive to school in something that you can wear under your costume. 
• Grades 4th-7th will need to pack a lunch or will receive a School Sack Lunch at the theater. K-3rd will return to school before lunch. School lunch forms will be sent home through your teachers
• STUDENTS WILL GO HOME WITH THEIR COSTUME PIECES ON DAY OF ‘THEIR’ TECH REHEARSALS TO BE WORN TO THE THEATRE ON THEIR SHOW DAY.
 

SHOW DAY: Saturday, Nov. 2nd
Performances: 10:00am / 6:00pm

ORANGE CAST
• All students come through Franklin St. Lobby Doors IN COSTUME
• Arrival: 8:45am (Mics + Siblings) 9:15am (Everyone else)

• Lerner Doors Open: 9:30am
• Show at 10:00-11:00am
• Parents will be dismissed from auditorium by grade to collect your student in the Lobby
• Please plan to take pictures with your students outside the Lerner so the space be reset for the next show.
 
BLUE CAST
• All students come through Franklin St. Lobby Doors IN COSTUME
• Arrival: 4:45pm (Mics + Siblings) 5:15pm (Everyone else)

• Lerner Doors Open: 5:30pm
• Show at 6:00-7:00pm
• Parents will be dismissed from auditorium by grade to collect your student in the Lobby
• Please plan to take pictures with your students outside the Lerner so the space be cleaned.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

We will be needing parent helpers to assist during Tech Rehearsals, Show Day and Strike. We suggest that you volunteer during the show that your student is NOT performing in so you can see your student onstage.

Costuming Instructions

1. Each student is required to wear a white tank top and black bike shorts under their costume and provide clothing pieces for their costume. Amazon links are provided for convenience but these items may come from the student’s closet, a thrift store, a department store, etc. 
2. The clothing pieces must be labeled with the student’s name and brought to school in a gallon zip lock bag by October 21. Please put the student’s name on the zip lock bag. Do not put the white tank top and black bike shorts in the bag. 
3. See below pertaining to your student’s role in the PAA Finding Nemo Jr. production to find the clothing pieces that need to be provided. 
4. Follow the hair and makeup guidelines for tech rehearsals and performances.
Items provided by Premier Arts will be turned in at the end of the performance.
 

Hair and makeup guidelines for ALL students

To be done for tech/dress rehearsal (October 29 and 30) and the performance on November 2. 
  • Hair needs to be completely out of the face.
  • For longer hair- keep hairstyles low on the head (no top buns/side pigtails/high ponytails) to accommodate for the hats and headbands students will be wearing.
  • Do not add your own hair accessories and please use hair ties that are the same color as the hair.
  • Keep makeup simple: blush, eyeliner, and light lipstick are recommended.
 

Named Fish

(Including Nemo, Pearl, Sheldon, Marlin, Tad’s Parent, Sheldon/Pearl Parent, Professor Ray, Bloat, Gill, Dory, Coral, Bubbles, Gurgle, and Peach.)
 
Required to provide:
• Black jazz shoes (the same jazz shoes used at school each week)
• A white tank top and black bike shorts- worn to school on tech rehearsal day and under their costume for the performance.
